The Manchild Chronicles

Oscars/sracsO

Posted in Movies by Hoaf on February 26th, 2008

Okay, has anyone ever heard of Marion Cotillard? Best Actress? Are you kidding me.

Obviously, the Academy didn’t want to follow the trend seen in recent years of giving out a little bald man to the most popular nominee (Halle Berry, Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon, Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx, Russell Crowe).

Cotillard was in La Vie en Rose, which is a movie that is easily summarized by using the tag “heartfelt biopic”. Actors and actresses in movies that are biopics should be given an automatic pass by the Academy. It’s really easy to copy the actions and voice of a real person. Most actors do nothing besides mimic the actions of the person. Cate Blanchett in I’m Not There (OMFG! She’s playing a man!).

Who really felt that Jamie Foxx was Ray Charles? Anyone could smile and look off into the distance underneath a pair of dark sunglasses.
